JUNE 2020
Webp.net-gifmaker-64.gif

Yes, the city is opening up, from restaurants to hair salons, it has been a long time since we could do what we have always taken for granted.

We will not take for granted though, those in our company who put themselves on the front line each day to service our valued customers that needed us each and every day.

We will be scheduling a day soon, to honor those Technicians who kept the equipment running while some other service companies closed their doors during the Pandemic and some, have closed their doors forever.

the back story says it all

cloth_reveal_custom_text_16987.gif

Diane Rossi joined PRO-TEK ten years ago, 15 years before that, Diane was the General Manager of Hobart in Long Island City, and PRO-TEK was one of many customers serviced by her and her Long Island City team.

The city starts phased openings!

and PRO-TEK & PRO-PLUS too

We are now in the month of June, and we will soon see some of our core customers open their doors.

This will be comforting to see, not only because our customer base is coming back, but it will indicate we are getting back to normal, or what we will understand as the "new normal", can't wait for that time.

We will soon be living almost a normal existence and doing things once again, like going to a diner for lunch, shopping in a store for sneakers, sitting in traffic and even spending a day on the beach, and maybe even going into the water, as beaches are now opening.

The PRO-TEK and PRO-PLUS offices has started its phased opening.

The building has been disinfected as per the sign to the left and most if not all those who work in the office are looking forward to returning.

The first to settle in were Jody, DianeV, and now Carla, others will follow shortly.

Deanna, PRO-PLUS's service manager will be starting in the office next week.

In an effort to grow our businesses, we are formally and aggressively offering HVAC service.

This is just one example of our commitment to not only grow our businesses, but to make sure we maintain our place as a leader in the tri-state service region.

Ed Lawrence needs some Help!

Ed Lawrence, a veteran technician who had worked fro PRO-TEK and PRO-PLUS for several years, had just had a run of bad luck.

He had moved far out on Long Island, started his own business, and then the Pandemic hit, understandably, most of his customer shut their doors.

On the heels of that, the home he bought was recently engulfed in fire and the whole house was destroyed (see pictures to the right).

A family member started a "GO FUND ME" account, and for those who would like to help, please click on the link.

Mary Ivory sends a message to the technicians

Mary works in the finance department, but that does not keep her from knowing and understanding the role the techncians play in the field.

It's the technicians who are keeping our customers serviced by repairing their equipment when it breaks down.

much healthier perspective

DEANNA SIEGEL
PRO-PLUS SERVICE MGR.

I will wear a mask in public and stand in the boxes six feet apart not for me, but for YOU

I want you to know that I am educated enough to know that

I could be asymptomatic and still give you the virus

No, I don’t “live in fear” of the virus I just want to be a part of the solution, not the problem

I don’t feel like the “government is controlling me”, I feel like I’m being a

contributing adult to society and I want to teach others the same.

The world doesn’t revolve around me. It’s not all about me and my comfort.

If we all could live with other people's consideration in mind, this whole world would be a much better place.

Wearing a mask and standing in the boxes six feet apart doesn’t make me weak, scared, stupid or even “controlled”, it makes me considerate

Imagine just for a moment that someone near and dear to you getting sick and ask yourself if you could have sucked it up a little for them.

It's like common courtesy doesn't exist anymore.

Feel free to copy and paste as I did

WHAT DINING MAY LOOK LIKE IN THE

NEAR FUTURE, a bit scary, yes

Small glasshouses  which respects social distancing abiding by government directives to combat the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Restaurants around the world try to lure back clientele while keeping them virus-free.

Screen Shot 2020-05-29 at 4.59.32 AM.png

I am sure we all experienced sitting in a restaurant next to what sound like dummies, but now, you may find yourself sitting next to real dummies, and that will a way restaurants can ensure social distancing is taking place as per the required protocols in to today's restaurants.

"Dinner for two" may never be the same, if you are looking for romance in a restaurant, you may be very disappointed.

In order to ensure the safety of patrons, instead of seeing pheasant under glass, you may start to the dining patrons under glass, this may become the new norm.

This was not the first Pandemic to hit our cities, see pictures below

Although what we are experiencing in New York and New Jersey, and as bad as it is, it is not the first war or virus we have faced

We have survived those previous, and we will survive this, although not without casualties, and that of course is very sad.

Previous epidemics, pandemics, and fevers, just to name a few, were Typhoid Mary in 1906, the Spanish Flu in 1918, and Diptheria in 1921.

We will get past this as we did the others, we will of course lose some more people, but we will survive this and be stronger for it, we always are, that is what America is about.

Bobby BaBosso is in the field each day and being a hero for us.

He takes a few minutes off, to share his thoughts about being in the field and shares his inner thoughts with his fellow technicians.

I take great pleasure and pride in announcing that PRO-PLUS, just had its 6th year anniversary.

It was not with struggles, hiccups and setbacks, but in spite of it all, it has forged ahead and became a significant player in the New York marketplace.

Under the leadership of veteran manager Jessica Hymowitz, a company with just a few technicians (although special technicians), veteran service manager Deanna Siegel, and Technical Sales Manager Westel Swanston, a company was launched and succeeded in meeting and actually exceeding expectations.

To all at PRO-PLUS, a hearty "JOB WELL DONE".

DEANNA

MIKE

ANTHONY

Good Service Managers are not easy to come by, but we are fortunate to have three good ones, two in PRO-TEK, and one in PRO-PLUS.

The job of Service Manager, is like being an air traffic controller, there are so many moving parts, all day, each day, with little to no time to take a break.
Processing service calls, building daily schedules, dealing with customers,  coordinating parts orders, and delivering them to technicians, can be quite exhausting.
A "JOB WELL DONE" to all our Service Managers as it is not an easy job, and sometimes it feels as though it's a thankless job, those senior and those subordinate to them, have a high level of appreciation for what they do every day.
When technicians cooperate, along with the great support they get from the parts department, days become better.

The "NEW" normal for Technician training

rational certificate.jpg
As the world rapidly changes, so does the training model for our technicians
when it comes to getting certified.
Recently, several PRO-PLUS technicians experienced the new world (not so new) of "on-line training, and all had successfully completed the RATIONAL course.
We will be seeing a lot of this type of on-line training as we go forward, just another indicator of the world in change.
Congratulations to Richie, Kerwin, Tom, and Melvin for their success with this training.
